JONATHAN CARTER has given Barbados Pride hope for a last-day victory against leaders Guyana Jaguars but the under-strength bowling attack must now finish the job today.

Guided by contrasting centuries from Carter and Shai Hope, Barbados Pride maintained the upper hand on the third day of their top-of-the-table seventh-round encounter in the regional Professional Cricket League at Kensington Oval.

Left-hander Carter made exactly one hundred not out off 104 balls with eight fours and three sixes while Hope dropped anchor in compiling 114 not out off 225 balls in 338 minutes with five fours to follow his 162 in the last round against the Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Their fifth-wicket partnership of 162 in 141 minutes, after linking up at 158 for four, enabled Barbados Pride to declare at 320 for four in their second innings, an hour after tea, setting the Jaguars 405 for victory. (EZS)
