ATHLETES who qualify for funding by the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) will be monitored better in the future.
That’s the word from BOA boss Steve Stoute, who made the comment while addressing the annual award ceremony of the Barbados Swimming Association at the Radisson Hotel on Sunday.
“We must refine our methods of monitoring performances of contracted athletes inclusive of swimmers to ensure they maintain an adequate standard to qualify for financial support,” Stoute said.
He said the athletes are contracted to his organisation “to give us more control”.
