WHEN Hypasounds hit the stage on Friday night for the International Soca Monarch (ISM) competition at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad, he did so with 100 per cent Bajan backing.

The artiste, who performed at position No. 4, had the support and presence of Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley, chief executive officer of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Cranston Browne and chairman of the NCF Maureen Graham.

But that was not all. His props were Bajan too. Thanks to Sonia Mullin, local group Dance Machine were flown in to perform with dancers from Elle NYTT at the finals.

“I remain heartened and humble by the support I continue to receive at home. I wrote the ministry for financial assistance when I was named a finalist. I know I could not put on the type of show I wanted to alone. I got that much-needed help and I have to say thanks to the Government of Barbados.” (TTY)
