THE DRIVER of a car headed to Long Bay, St Philip might not have had Foreigner Frank’s song Lawn Um Down in mind, but the vehicle certainly did quite a bit of damage when it ran off the road at Ruby Hill this morning about 5:30.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, driven by a woman and carrying two female passengers, veered from the left and ploughed across the road, taking out a miniature palm tree, bursting a pipe and severely damaging a well-used bus shelter nearby.

“A boy was dey,[at the stop] and he gone in the ambulance. A lady was driving with [two] young girls from up Long Bay Corner. Something always happening at that bus stop,” the eyewitness said. accident-at-ruby-2

The extent of injuries was not known up to writing.  (JS)
