Aldair Sobers is a young man who is not daunted by challenges.
The catalyst for his burning industriousness presented itself more than a decade ago when he wanted to establish a football programme for unemployed youth in his community.
Laughing as he recalled the incident, Sobers said when he came up with the idea, friends convinced him to run it past his parliamentary representative for potential backing. He did, and after the meeting, Sobers recounted they were both enthused about the concept.
“He agreed it sounded good. Then he went for this book and he said he didn’t see my name. Truthfully, I don’t vote and I was new to the village. Then he closed the book and said he would get back to me.
