Catch it when you can

THE CURRENT WATER SHORTAGE being experienced in St Joseph hasn’t only interrupted the usual flow of Dionne King’s daily routine. It has also robbed her of part of her income.

King is a geography teacher and small farmer who shared some of her struggles as a result of the water woes in the area.

On Wednesday, a SUNDAY SUN team visited her home in Spa Hill to see first-hand how she was coping.

It was 10:20 a.m. when King led the team to a catchment area at the side of her house. While walking towards the backyard, she stopped by a blue drum meticulously placed under guttering on the roof. 

“This is one day’s worth of water,” she said, before dipping out some of the rainwater with a bucket.
