They have been divorced for three years now. She still wears her wedding bands and signs letters as Mrs . . .
We happen to work in the same building [not the same office] and even attend the same doctor. Referring to herself as Mrs . . . has resulted in a lot of misunderstandings.
Is someone allowed to use Mrs after a divorce and the ex-husband has remarried?
Her ex-husband and I have been married for just over a year. Do you see this as a kind of sweet revenge? Should I ask my husband to speak to her?

Dear PS,
Speak to her about what? She can call herself whatever she likes. I am sure that since the legal separation, there are no legal documents tying your husband’s ex-wife to him. As long as she does not refer to herself – let’s say as Mrs Ted . . . – she is free to live in her fantasy world, or if it makes her happy, keep looking like a fool.
Of course what she is doing is misleading, but I am sure she does not carry the same middle name as you do and hopefully, while you work in the same building and go to the same doctor, thank your lucky stars that you do not live in the same district.
You know who you are; just leave the silly woman alone.
