De Rum Shop Bar on Halls Road was a hive of activity as seasonal music blasted and loads of people from the village passed by to collect bags of groceries.

Eversley, who has been operating the shop for the past five years, estimated that she spent nigh $10 000 of her own money to ensure that everyone was able to have at least a good Christmas Day meal.
