BARBADOS stands to gain from a joint venture between the Barbados Turf Club and China Horse Club (CHC) which will both bring Chinese jockeys to Barbados early in the new year.
The initiative, which starts next month, will see two Chinese jockeys begin riding as apprentices as part of a programme called the CHC China Dream Project.
It has been designed to provide international opportunities for talented young Chinese men and women in the thoroughbred industry and jockeys Chen Li and Qin Yong have been selected to ride in Barbados for at least six months.
In an interview with MIDWEEK SPORT, vice-president at the China Horse Club, Eden Harrington, spoke of the benefits that would accrue to Barbados.
