COME AUGUST 2016, local theatre artists will have a spanking performing arts building to showcase their talents.
During a groundbreaking ceremony today at the Barbados Museum, Garrison, St Michael, officials and directors of the project gathered at the future home of the Walled Garden Theatre building.
Deputy Director of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society Kevin Farmer told members of the media once all goes to plan, the hall should be completed in early August.
Speaking to Nation Online in a brief interview, Farmer said the new building would provide better amenities for performers.
Sir Trevor Carmichael, president of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, anticipates the new facility will contribute positively to cultivating the development of theatre and performing arts in Barbados. (MR)
