Volleyballers ready for rivals

BARBADOS’ junior captains have their eyes fixed on competing at the NORCECA Volleyball Championships in summer 2016.

With only six days until the start of the tenth Caribbean Junior Volleyball Championships, boys’ captain Andriy Stapleton and girls’ captain Ashley Jordan are feeling confident about their chances of being victorious at the tournament, which starts on Monday at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

The tournament winners will automatically qualify for the prestigious NORCECA Championships.

At a Press conference held at the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) yesterday to discuss the preparation for the tournament, the captains said their teams had been working hard and all they needed to complete their success was for the Barbadian home crowd to come out and support them. (RG)
