STUDENTS OF Ellerslie Secondary School are at least one step closer towards being well prepared for the challenges of the world of work.

Returning fifth formers were treated to a four course meal at Pure Ocean Restaurant today as a practical exercise in etiquette.

Facilitator of the six-month training programme Sandra Griffith-Carrington of the University of the West Indies Open Campus said the programme facilitators saw it fit to coach the students in basic etiquette as many said they were unable to properly use utensils.

Griffith-Carrington urged other schools to get involved with such programmes.

She said two students will be selected for an internship at the Open Campus after the training programme ends in March 2016. (MR)
