No compassion, cries Griffith

THE BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY (BLP) is continuing to face strong condemnation from within its ranks over the expulsion of Christ Church West Member of Parliament Dr Maria Agard.

George Griffith, a former general secretary and BLP member for 45 years, charged that the party acted improperly and was lacking compassion and humanity.

He said Agard was terrorised, adding that a serious attempt should have been made to have the dispute between her and the branch executive resolved as opposed to fanning the flames and giving aid and comfort to those who were creating the problems for her.

Speaking on CBC-TV’s The People’s Business Sunday night, he accused party members of making the MP’s life a living hell, adding there appeared to be a deliberate attempt to ruin her political career. (WILLCOMM)
