Second shooting at Ruby

HEAVY BASS PATTERNS coming from the music trucks of the St Philip Carnival gave way to wailing police and ambulance sirens as they responded to another shooting in the vicinity of Ruby, St Philip.

Police confirmed the incident which occurred around 7 p.m. and said a victim was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a result.

Earlier in the afternoon, Dwayne Burgess of Marley Vale, St Philip was shot and killed on Ruby Main Road.  

Two hours later revellers were sent scampering into the dark, side roads after two gunshots rang out. (JS)
