Oscar Suarez and Magdalena Devil are still missing.
But although the search for the American couple ends tomorrow, local authorities are still hoping for the best.
Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds flanked by Deputy Commisoner of Police Erwin Boyce and Lieutenant Commander at the Barbados Coast Guard Ryan Alleyne updated members of the media this morning, at Government Headquarters, Bay Street, St Michael.
“The United States Air Force, who have not found anything, recalled their plane. And obviously with the passage of time, the prospect of this having a happy ending becomes smaller but we will continue this search with the Barbados Coast Guard and the Regional Security Service until sunset this evening,” Symmonds said.
The New Jersey coupl arrived in Barbados last week Saturday, and went missing after going on a jet ski from Holetown Beach on Monday.
Their disappearance prompted a response from numerous local and international officials including Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley who on Thursday extended the search to 72 hours. (TG)
