Don’t be selfish

Young women are not willing to sacrifice for their children, charged Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite. And he is advising Barbadians to get back to basics.

Brathwaite was at the time giving brief remarks at a church service of healing and hope held in collaboration with the Criminal Research and Planning Unit at Restoration Ministries, Brittons Hill, St Michael yesterday.

He said there was a breakdown in the family unit because “young women are not willing to make sacrifices on behalf their children”.

Brathwaite maintained there was nothing new about a majority of matriarchal households in Barbados but what was new was the selfishness that had crept in as women reared their children.
