THE BIDDING WAR for control of local beverage company Banks Holdings Ltd will resume in earnest tomorrow as the island’s top judge declared the court was removing itself from the market process.
In addition, the conglomerates fighting for control of BHL have been given additional time in which to make their bids.
The late Friday night decision was greeted with “delight” by the company’s legal representative Barry Gale, QC, one of its directors Chris DeCaires and its chief executive officer and managing director Richard Cozier.
As he discharged the injunction, Chief Justice Sir Marston told the parties involved in the legal action that based on the evidence presented to him in the three days of hearing, the court felt it “should take itself out of the market process”.
