Residents fume over gas leak

RESIDENTS NEAR the Barbados National Oil Company Ltd (BNOCL) at Woodbourne, St Philip, blasted the company for not keeping them informed about a major gas leak in the area.

The company, however, made it clear that their efforts were focused on fixing what could have been a dangerous problem.

On Wednesday, residents complained of hours of leaking gas from the facility that caused them health concerns as well as fears for their personal safety and possessions.

Pritchard Hill, St Patrick’s, Christ Church resident Carolyn Sargeant said that around 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon she was alerted by a loud noise coming from the oil company.
