Hope for Games

THE MUCH talked about Caribbean Games could become a reality within the next five years.

That hosting of the Games was one of the many items discussed at the recently concluded General Assembly of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Chairman Steve Stoute said they were currently looking at different avenues for getting the Games  off the ground.

“We agreed to look at different formulas, at how we could bring these Games off in a time of financial difficulties in most of our jurisdictions. Two countries have indicated they would like to hold the full Games while another formula thrown out was that maybe we could spread the Games around in different territories,” he said.
