THE MUCH-anticipated hearing of claims of unfair dismissal by employees of the National Conservation Commission (NCC) will finally get under way on September 30.
Chairman of the Employment Rights Tribunal (ERT), Hal Gollop, announced the start date for the case yesterday and said three consecutive days had been set aside for the hearing, which will be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
He said the venue was chosen because of the huge public interest in the matter.
“It is a class action,” the Queen’s Counsel said, pointing out that all 80 applicants had similar issues. He predicted that because of this the matter could be disposed of within a reasonable time.
