TROPICAL STORM IDA is not a threat to land, nor is it expected to strengthen over the next few days.

According to an advisory from the National Hurricane Centre, Tropical Storm Ida remains “sheared” as it moves in a northwest direction at 17 miles per hour.

This weak wind shear does not allow for development. As associated wind speeds decrease, Ida is expected to become almost stationary by Tuesday.

The storm is approximately 1 100 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands as it travels across the Atlantic Ocean. (PR/SAT)
