CHIEF JUSTICE SIR MARSTON GIBSON says the court system is saddled with over 21 000 uncompleted cases over the past ten years.
“[This issue] points to [the] serious need for training in how to dispose of cases in [the] computer system when the judgment has been [read],” he said at the opening of the Assizes in Supreme Court No. 1 yesterday.
Against a background of several concerns and complaints about the backlog, Sir Marston said it was “bad, but not as bad as we may think”.
He said the issue appeared to be technical.
