After-party talks

GRAND KADOOMENT FESTIVITIES could go on as long as 9 p.m. this year.

That’s because the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) and Twisted Entertainment have partnered to stage Rewhine, the official after-party of the marquee jump-up.

If all goes as planned, says NCF chief executive officer Carol Roberts-Reifer, the fete, to be held at Kensington Oval, will include entertainment provided by deejays, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

She explained the move came after meetings with the Kadoomentbandleaders in December and January who expressed dissatisfaction that once they reached the Spring Garden Highway, there was no central meeting place.

“There are several moving parts to this and they are all moving at the same time, but we have been having discussions with the Royal Barbados Police Force . . . who have been guiding us about how best we can roll out our events and assure the safety of patrons,” Roberts-Reifer said. (TG)
