A CHRIST CHURCH woman is expected to appear in court today charged with drug-related offences after 5.5 pounds of cannabis were allegedly found in a barrel at the Bridgetown Port.

She is 39-year-old Syndie Brendalyn Reece of Manchester Close, Platinum Heights.

Police say Reece went to clear the barrel of personal items imported from Canada yesterday. When members of the Customs and Excise Department conducted a search, they allegedly found five packages of compressed cannabis.

Reece was detained and later charged by police with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.

She is expected to appear at the District “A” Magistrates’ Court. (PR/NB)
