TEEN ARCHER Brandon Field is keeping his eyes on his target.
The 15-year-old, who took up archery at age seven, at primary school, is hoping to win a gold medal for Barbados at the Olympic Games.
“That’s the one thing I’m looking forward to,” said Field, who has won the Barbados national championships for the past two years and is the youngest archer to represent Barbados at any level.
Although Field has not qualified for next year’s summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil, he is preparing mentally and physically for a bright future in archery.
The Lester Vaughan student is only 20 points below the Olympics qualifying score of 630 and is sure that with practice he will be ready for the 2020 Olympics.
Field is looking forward to achieving an archery scholarship one day. He also recognises the importance of getting an education and plans his playing schedule around his studies.
