THE queens of the Goddard Enterprises Limited Senior Volleyball Knockout Competition, Brydens Rockets, hardly looked royal as they were denied a direct trip to the semi-finals when the final preliminary games were played at the Wildey Gym on Wednesday night.
Former queens Toners ruled as they stunned the defending champions 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-17 to finish with a 2-0 record in Group C. The Rockets ended second and Club United third.
Young Ashley Marshall’s game was as brilliant as her ever-changing hairstyle as she plundered the Rockets, with the counters from Shari Matthews proving inadequate. Barbados junior player Ashley Jordan ran the setting duties beautifully, with former national captain Shennell Pooler providing the experience for the young Toners to take the match.
