TEACHERS AND STUDENTS have been given the green light by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU)to return to Combermere School, which had been closed for part of the last school term as a result of environmental problems.

This was announced yesterday by BSTU president Mary Redman as she spoke on a number of issues during a Press conference at the BSTU’s Belleville, St Michael headquarters.

She said the BSTU was satisfied that the major problems at Combermere had been addressed. She pointed out that union personnel were updated last week by environmental officials who conducted the investigations as well as by officials from the Ministry of Health.

“Based on all that has been reported to us, our major areas of concern seem to have been addressed or are in the process of being addressed and based on that we are saying to our members that they can return to Combermere School come September.”
