BARBADOS’ WOMEN cricketers returned home yesterday to a small but rousing reception after capturing the Regional 50 title over the weekend.

A gathering of family, friends and fans, along with CEO of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), David Deane, and BCA board member Deighton Smith, were on hand to cheer and greet the conquering heroines.

Barbados defeated Jamaica, who had dominated the tournament for the past four years, by 124 runs, with the Bajans capturing a number of personal awards.

Kyshona Knight took the Player Of The Finals prize as she scored the most runs, while West Indies bowler Shakera Selman ended with the most wickets, 15. All-rounder Hayley Matthews scored the highest total of 92, which was against Trinidad and Tobago.
