AS PART OF its continued efforts to educate the public about consumer rights and responsibilities, the Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC) Consumer Protection Division will host a two-hour workshop on the Construction Industry, on Wednesday, August 26, from 10 a.m.

It will take place at the Commission’s office, Good Hope, Green Hill, St. Michael.

The workshop is expected to accommodate 20 attendees, and persons will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The seminar will examine the challenges highlighted in the Commission’s study of the construction industry’s impact on consumers, and will seek to identify solutions for some of the recurring issues.  These include dissatisfaction with construction work completed; high construction costs; delays in project completion; and final costs being higher than originally quoted.

Interested persons should contact the FTC at 424-0260, to reserve their space. (BGIS)
