BUSINESSMAN ANDERSON “FAT CHILD”’ CHERRY says his offer to help clear waste from the essential services if the controversial tipping fee is waived, has not been taken up by Government.

Cherry, managing director of José y José Liquid and Solid Waste Management Inc. made the offer last month when the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) was on strike for more than a week.

The workers have been back on the job two weeks now but the build-up of the garbage has residents across the island complaining about unsightly and unhealthy conditions.

Cherry has again extended the offer, since he realised that the SSA would be challenged to get back on track with collections even though workers have resumed collections. He said complaints were still coming in about a lack of collection. (LK)
