TODAY’S 76TH BARBADOS DERBY should see an exhilarating finish between favourites Poetic Licence and Donicodidit at the historic Garrison Savannah.
This will be the fifth meeting between the duo and they will put it all on the line in the pattern Grade I Massy United Insurance Barbados Derby over 2 000 metres slated for 4:55 p.m.
Poetic Licence won this year’s Barbados Guineas over 1 570 metres and her times have been phenomenal. She is simply outstanding and has dominated all her peers while winning two Grade I events. She leads this clash of the titans three wins to one.
Donicodidit, the winner of the Midsummer Creole Classic over 1 800 metres, has always shown good ability even when he was defeated on those occasions as his conqueror was too explosive from the start. (LY)
