Injured teen’s mum wants answers

THE MOTHER of a 19-year-old accident victim, who survived the crash that took the life of the 16-year-old driver, has some questions for the authorities.

Liana Blackman, whose daughter Sherrita Blackman-Oliver received multiple injuries in the accident that claimed the life of Karim Busby last Saturday, is querying why it took authorities more than three hours after the crash occurred to contact her.

Blackman spoke to the DAILY NATION shortly after her daughter was transferred from the Surgical Intensive Care Unit to Ward A3 yesterday.

“The accident happened at 12:04 [a.m.]. I wasn’t called until minutes to four . . . . She was being attended to, but they had her down as a Jane Doe at first before her supervisor had gotten there,” she said, adding that the supervisor received  a call around 2 a.m.
