Lashley hails measures

MINISTER OF CULTURE Stephen Lashley has described the 2015 Budget as having very progressive measures, given that the economy was under strain and in need of restructuring.

He told the House of Assembly late Tuesday night that going forward, Barbados must ensure the level of productivity in the island be enhanced, and that the country be in a position where it was not so vulnerable to shocks of future recessions.

He spent much of his time focusing on the cultural industries, which he said would give the youth a chance to take advantage of new opportunities.
