THE NATIONAL CULTURAL FOUNDATION (NCF) is singing some new tunes this Crop Over.
For starters, the foundation has made it clear it will not be allowing songs entered in the Sweet Soca, Party Monarch or Junior Monarch competitions to be sung in the Pic-O-De-Crop competition, or any other competition for that matter.
And there’s more.
The state agency is also cracking down on the number of people who can appear on stage with the contestants in the final round of its competitions.
In an email sent to tent managers in April with the rules and entry forms for this year, Adisa Aja Andwele, the co-ordinator of the competitions, drew the managers’ attention to the amendment 11.d of the Pic-O-De- Crop rules, which is also written in the rules for the two competitions under the banner of Soca Royale.
