APPARENTLY THE GYM’S renovation has been met with approval from the local indoor sports – once they get first crack at the improved facility.
Both president of the Barbados Volleyball Association, John Griffith, and local basketball head Derrick Garrett have welcomed the 19 million-dollar renovation to the Wildey Gymnasium, but are questioning whether it will be business as usual when the facility is reopened after 14 months of repairs.
Garrett and Griffith made the comments in light of the Gym’s policy of giving “paying” gigs preference over sporting bodies to use the multi-purpose venue.
