Garbage piling up

BY TODAY, there is expected to be a major stink across the island after private waste haulers and movers stepped up their protest action by refusing to clear waste islandwide. 

However, for days now concern has been growing that cases of illegal dumping will increase as a direct result of the introduction of the $25 plus VAT tipping fee.

Chairman of the Waste Haulers Association Charles Read said he had the assurance of his members that they would not engage in illegal dumping.
