Banker’s warning

WITH ITS vast potential for development, Barbados must stop settling for ordinary, below-average performances.

That was the provocative message which one of Trinidad and Tobago’s leading bankers, Ronald Harford, delivered yesterday during a Barbados Employers’ Confederation (BEC) luncheon at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Harford, chairman of Republic Bank Ltd, called on the business sector to help propel the country to some “extraordinary” outcomes across a broad spectrum of development, through lobbying, the application of pressure to Government and other stakeholders as well as other methods.
