Paradise left it until late but maintained their dominance of Group B with a hard-fought 2-1 victory on Sunday night over South Coast rivals Wotton in the Capelli Cup at the Wildey Turf.
Favourites Weymouth Wales also preserved their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 win over a resurgent Technique, while Pinelands were moments away from an important three points, only for Porey Spring United’s Anthony Rollins to equalise in the dying moments to make it 2-2 at the final whistle.
The highly anticipated South Coast derby failed to live up to the hype in the first half. Paradise captain Armando “Sugar” Lashley came closest to the opening goal when his shot rebounded off the post in the 22nd minute in a solid session for defenders on both sides.
Mario Williams gave Paradise the lead with his header in the 55th minute following a well-executed corner. (NM)
