Five injured in Silver Sands clash

FOUR PEOPLE sustained gunshot injuries during an apparent clash of feuding groups early this morning.

The incident occurred at Bournes Land, Silver Sands, Christ Church during a promotional fete around 2:30 a.m.

Reports are that a fight broke out, gunshots went off soon after and four people – three men and one woman – received firearm injuries during the melee. As people scampered in fright, one woman was injured in the stampede.

All the injured party-goers were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle. None of the injuries was life-threatening, police stated.

Reports making the rounds are that the one man was shot in the abdomen and the trampled woman may have broken bones. (PR/AC)
