FSC workers get salaries topped up

STAFF OF THE Financial Services Commission (FSC) have just had their pay topped up by as much as four per cent in some cases, but it has apparently been done without adding to the overall cost of the state agency.

And Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler told the SUNDAY SUN yesterday he did not believe the decision of the FSC strengthened the case of unions for salary increases for all public workers or tied the Government to taking such a stance.

Recently, reports have been circulating that the board of the FSC had agreed to increase the pay of its 60-odd workers, ranging for four per cent to 12 per cent at a time when workers across the public service had been impacted by a more than five-year-old wages and salaries freeze. (RRM)
