THEY have been trying unsuccessfully since 1981, but England have put one hand on clinching their first ever Test match victory in Antigua against the West Indies.
An era spanning 34 years in a territory where they have been winless could now end in a famous triumph in the first of three Tests for the Wisden Trophy as the West Indies were 98 for two at the end of Day 4, chasing an unlikely victory target of 438.
It is a position of dominance for the England side, and the West Indies, with a possible 90 overs to face on the final day, will have to go for a record chase or bat to save the match.
