THEY CAME BY THE HUNDREDS to dance to the music of Rupee and Mikey and to enjoy their favourite meals at Chefette’s 14th restaurant at Black Rock. The smallest came in parents’ arms and strollers. Many came holding the hands of mommies and daddies, and the much bigger ones turned up dressed in their Crop-Over gear. The event, planned by Managing Director of Chefette Restaurants, Ryan Haloute, said it was the company’s way of giving back to a society, which has supported it since the first Chefette opened in Fontabelle in 1972.Face-painting, special giveaways, dancing with the stars of the evening, and just enjoying the atmosphere of the new facility with its three-storey playground, were the order of the four-hour event last Thursday evening.
