Bajan airline worker dies in US

NEW YORK – Police today confirmed that  Miquel King, 25, a Barbadian luggage handler at the John F. Kennedy International Airport was killed after a bus crashed into a vehicle in which a passenger.
Police said the B15 bus smashed into the vehicle driven by King’s close friend, Kareem France, 25, who remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The accident occurred late last night as the men were making their way home from work.
Friends said King had worked for Delta Airlines, handling baggage for four years.
“They work together and live together – just like brothers,” said France’s mother, Yvonne, adding that the two men were “close friends” and roommates.
She said the men normally did not work Wednesday’s, but had recently had their schedules changed.
“They were supposed to be off. It was a new schedule that started today,” she added.
Police said nine people on the bus were also injured. (CMC)
