Michael Mikey Mercer has been in the runner-up position in the Party Monarch competition on three occasions.
His fortunes improved to the tune of $107 500 last Sunday night, when he took the prize car and $10 000 as winner of the 2011 competition.
Mikey came through the bottom of the stage and whipped up the crowd with Pavement Anticipation.
Crowd response and presentation are a maximum of five points each, but go a long way in determining the eventual competition winner.
Mikey was one of four entertainers with the spectacle to earn maximum points for both and the crowd responded accordingly with the glow sticks that had been distributed specially for his performance.
Mikey scored 433 points to beat four-time champ Li’l Rick by 12 points.
