DEAR CHRISTINE – Co-workers getting away with foolishness

Dear Christine,
I WRITE THIS LETTER with great concern for myself and other members of my team.
I am a worker with the Ministry of Transport and Works and have been for the past 12 years. For the life of me, I cannot understand how some workers are allowed to get to work late and leave early.
There are especially two women from my section who are always off the job. I wonder what they have on the supervisor that they can do so much foolishness and get away with it.
Is it fair to have foolish men on the job weed their portion of the work for corned beef and macaroni while they stand up and look special in dark shades, or is the supervisor getting corned beef and macaroni too?
Can someone from the head office please look into this? How can these women be allowed to get on the job at 9:15 a.m. and leave at 10:45 a.m. for lunch without returning until the next day, every day?
I am very frustrated and want some answers. I think what is good for one should be good for all.
– CONCERNED?CO-WORKER

Dear Concerned Co-worker:
It seems to me that you have been keeping a check on your colleagues. If you believe that they are being given privileges which other employees, including yourself, are not enjoying.
I would suggest that you speak to the supervisor. If the supervisor fails to deal with the issue, then speak to the  manager at the head office.
I know that you have written this letter in the hope that someone at the head office would see this and look into the matter.
If this strategy fails, you can perhaps write the manager about your concerns. You may not necessarily have to sign your name if you don’t care to.
– CHRISTINE
