St James man found dead

The body of a 56-year-old man was found by a resident in a driveway at Thorpes Terrace, St James, yesterday afternoon.
The dead man was identified as Anderson Shorey, formerly of Mills Apartment in Haynesville.
Reports said he collapsed and died on the sidewalk at the entrance of a driveway to a house occupied by Anthony Maynard.
Maynard said that around 12:30 p.m. he left his home and was about to get in his car when he saw a man lying motionless at the entrance of his driveway.
“I immediately called the police and the ambulance,” he said.
Residents said that prior to his death, Shorey was pacing a section of the sidewalk.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
“We cannot say anything about foul play. We have to wait for the autopsy,” Welch said. (MM)
