A CHRIST CHURCH man died yesterday afternoon from what appeared to be stab wounds.
Police and curious onlookers surrounded the body of Michael Anderson Maloney, 50, formerly of St David’s, Christ Church and more recently, Flagstaff, St Michael, as it lay in the driveway leading to the Olympus Theatres section of Sheraton Mall, Sargeants Village, Christ Church.
Maloney’s incredulous family, including his son Akeem and brother Marvin,  expressed disbelief at the manner in which he was killed.
“I was home when I got the call. The thing is, I had spoken to him on the phone this morning.
“He was a cool person, not the sort to interfere with anyone. He used to look out for people. If he had his last, he would give it to you and forget [about it]. He was real friendly. I can’t see how this could happen,” said Marvin.
Police said they were treating the matter as an unnatural death, adding that it was believed Maloney was stabbed by an unknown assailant. It is unknown exactly where Maloney was attacked. (CA)
