The once troubled supermarket chain Trimart is now in the black and fully stabilized.
Word of this has come from new president and chief executive officer of ANSA McAL (Barbados) Nicholas Mouttet. He told BARBADOS BUSINESS AUTHORITY in a recent interview that the chain, which earlier this year faced closure, was now turning a small profit.
So impressed is the ANSA McAL group with the performance over the past four months of the Trimart stores – which it owns – that its expansion of the stores if the current positive trajectory continues.
“We expect Trimart to be an organization that is really performing within the ANSA McAL portfolio in the near future. Once we are able to settle the company down and show some returns on the initial investment, we will definitely be interested in expansion – either expanding the locations or acquiring new locations,” the chief executive pointed out.
