Defending Under-19 Netball queens the Garrison Secondary will meet the Lodge School; and Combermere will battle The Alleyne in next week’s semi-finals following the quarter-finals yesterday at the Netball Stadium.
The Garrison crushed Lester Vaughan on Tuesday when rain ended the game at half-time with Garrison leading 31-4. Lester Vaughan opted not to turn up for the continuation yesterday.
Former multiple-champions Springer Memorial were trailing the Lodge School 6-15 on Tuesday. They found no better fortune yesterday as they were wrecked by national junior Rieah Holder who sunk 27 of 33 to lead The Lodge to victory 30-14.
Former Barbados junior captain Dalia Scantlebury led a clutch of national reps like Shaniqua Thomas and Marissa Elliott for Combermere to top a diffident Queen’s College, 25-11. Ashley Marshall and Nekala Jordan were outstanding for Alleyne as they destroyed an inexperienced Parkinson Memorial 40-11.
Here, Combermere’s captain Dalia Scantlebury (left) using her speed and height to beat Esther-Joy Ochieng of Queen’s College to the ball.
