‘Give children condoms’

NOTHING IS WRONG with parents providing condoms to children who are at an age where they may be sexually active, says president of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), Walter Maloney.
Maloney contended that, contrary to popular belief, such action did not mean that such parents were prompting their children to be sexually active, but rather that they were encouraging them to protect themselves.
He was speaking yesterday to public sector employees attending an HIV/AIDS seminar to mark World AIDS Day 2011 at the Horatio Cooke auditorium in Dalkeith, St Michael.
The seminar was organized by the NUPW Public Workers’ Academy under the theme Getting to Zero, which has the goals of “zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths” by 2015.
